Bergen has a unique festival concentration. The Bergen International Festival (founded 1953) is the Nordic flagship festival for music and performing arts, with over 150 events across two weeks. Nattjazz is one of Europe's oldest jazz festivals. Bergenfest gathers Nordic and international artists at Bergenhus Fortress. Beyond the Gates is Bergen's metal festival, and BIFF (Bergen International Film Festival) is Norway's largest film festival.
