The Gingerbread City (Pepperkakebyen) at Sentralbadet is the world's largest, built by local schools and kindergartens.
The season opens with Lysfesten (Light Festival) in mid-November — Bergen's beloved tradition for over 30 years, featuring the official Christmas tree lighting, live music and fireworks over Lille Lungegårdsvann. Grieghallen, Bergen Cathedral and churches throughout the city host Christmas concerts from late November through December.
